I’m Jill and I took over Source for the Goose over 5 years ago, taking a complete change of direction from my previous role in careers education. I have always enjoyed the excitement of finding one-off vintage pieces of furniture and homewares for my own home, so shops like Source for the Goose were invaluable to me. I also discovered Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, and and this made my furniture finds even more fun as I could see the potential in pieces that other people had written off. As you can imagine, its difficult now to not keep the pieces I source for myself!
What is Source for the Goose style I hear you say? I’m pleased to say I’ve carried on my passion for unique pieces of furniture and home accessories in Source for the Goose. Picture a blend of French and English rustic country style, combine this with a warm welcome and you will have a taste of what treasures there are to entice you. I like to show how you can have a mix of old and new in your home. As one of my lovely customers said: ‘Amazing , brilliant, fantastic and extremely helpful, sums up this amazing shop’.
I feel very privileged to be working somewhere which mirrors what I enjoy most in life. If you come into the shop you may find me chalk painting furniture, changing a display or just about to have some much needed tea and cake. Being an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint stockist, you can join in too, whether you want to try it out at home or enrol in a class, the choice is yours…and if you heard me say cake, then the class is for you!

I was so proud to have been featured in an issue of Country Loving Vintage Home. When I recieved the phone call from the Country Living team asking if I would like Source for the Goose to have its own editorial, you can imagine my euphoria!
