The Art of Procrastination: A Peek Behind the Scenes at Source for the Goose

I have a confession to make, and it feels a bit awkward to admit this in writing. But here goes…

Lately, I've been procrastinating, and as a result, a few of my projects at Source for the Goose are still works in progress. Whether it’s finishing up a paint job or giving a piece the deep clean it deserves, I’ve let time slip by. So, I decided to take a different approach—why not share these items with you in their unfinished state?

Yes, that means you’ll see pieces that aren’t yet staged or polished to perfection. They’re a bit rough around the edges, but there’s a charm in seeing things as they are before they reach their final form. I hope that by sharing these with you, it will give me the push I need to finally get them done!

First up is this humungous pine cupboard, needing a bit of sanding, cleaning and then waxing. To be fair to myself, it has only just arrived, so I don't think I need to beat myself up too much for not getting this done!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen me working on this pretty French style cupboard. All it now needs is a door catch, but it is a fiddly job so I keep putting it off! In case you are wondering, this is painted in pretty Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue Chalk Paint

Last in the line up are this pair of bedside drawers, the body is done and I opted for Annie Sloan Satin Paint in Pointe Silk for an elegant look, but can't decide on the tops!

Of course, there are items that are ready to go, so head on over to my furniture page for more vintage inspiration.

Being your own boss has its perks, but it also means there’s no one to give you that gentle nudge when you need it. So consider this my call to action. Keep an eye on these pieces, as I’ll be working on them and sharing their transformations soon!

In the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts—do you find the creative process as fascinating as the final result? And for all the fellow procrastinators out there, how do you manage to stay on track with your projects?

Thanks for being part of the journey and I hope you enjoy hearing what it is really like behind the scenes at Source for the Goose!
