How do I find the gorgeous stock you LOVE at Source for the Goose?
This is a question I am often asked by customers, so I thought you might like to see where I spent my Sunday sourcing new stock for all of you!
One of the places shops find new and exciting stock is at annual trade shows. One of these is the Spring Fair held at the NEC in Birmingham. This always happens in February and its a little surreal walking around choosing spring and summer homewares when I can arrive in a howling gale, or even snow! This year was the first time I could attend in person for two years because of the pandemic, so you can imagine my excitement to be able to see lots of home accessories products ‘in the flesh’ again and to meet up with the lovely wholesalers who attend this show. Sometimes you get to meet a celebrity as well, this was me in 2019 with none other than Theo Paphitis!
Although the show itself is massive covering fashion, beauty and gifts, my focus is on the home decor section where the likes of Waltons of Yorkshire (think tablecloths, napkins and other homewares), Tweedmill ( gorgeous wool blankets) and many others have their wares set out ready to tempt.
I can hear you asking… what did I buy? Some scrumptious throws and cushions made from recycled plastic bottles. They are so soft you would never know what they started life as. I am expecting these in the shop from April.
Thinking of Spring and Summer, keep an eye out for garden table and chair sets, zinc planters and garden mirrors.
Looking ahead to autumn and Christmas, (hard to believe!), some stunning new tableware designs.
And of course, not forgetting those blankets I mentioned above!
Plus lots more…so keep an eye out on the shop pages and via my Instagram and Facebook feeds for updates on when all this loveliness will arrive. Better still, sign up for my newsletter (link at the bottom of the home page) and I’ll let you know in person when it all arrives.
Love, Jill
